Story

Carnegie Challege 2009 (16th August 2009) - Cycling/Rowing/Running!

Only 1 Month to go and I will be embarking on a once in a life time challenge to raise money for the "Steve Prescott Foundation". Along with Steve and a team of ex rugby league guys we will be attempting to complete the Carnegie Challenge Cup Challenge.

The 11 day challenge is to carry the match day ball for the Carnegie Challenge Cup final from Catalan to Wembley. We are cycling the first 700 miles from Catalan to Calais, then rowing in a dragon boat, cycling a further 80 miles from Dover to Uxbridge and then a ½ Marathon run into Wembley on the morning of the Challenge Cup Final.

All funds raised by the event will be equally split between The Christie Cancer Hospital and the RFL Benevolent Fund, which helps sick and injured Rugby League Players. The ex Rugby League participants include Paul Sculthorpe, Kris Radlinski, Chris Joynt, Steve Hampson, Gary Connolly, Anthony Sullivan, Steve Prescott, Terry O’Connor, Chris Smith Steve Hall, Lee Jackson. Jonny Vegas is also doing the rowing with us (with his monkey!!!!).

It would be fantastic if I could raise AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE for these great causes, so please donate kindly, any donation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking your time to read about our challenge and hopefully sponsor me.

About the charity

The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by a totally inspirational man Steve Prescott MBE. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. The SPF changes the lives of so many people.
