Story

Welcome to our Just Giving page – thanks for visiting and a massive thanks in advance for your donation!

Jamie’s Harem (erm........he wishes!) is made up of four good friends – Jamie Sadler, Kirstin Sadler, Sue Shellard and Sarah Bates who aim to raise £2000 for the charity REGAIN

Bearing in mind we are a group of mixed ability and fitness the challenge is HUGE!

On Saturday 12th June we are going to attempt to complete a 20 mile ride around the base of Snowdon, off bikes, climb to the top of Snowdon (a quick cuppa), climb back down, back on bikes for another 10 miles, jump in a canoe and race for 6 km, then back on the bikes for another 10 miles to the FINISH!!

This isn’t a relay event and success depends on all four of us hitting each of the targets, as a team.

REGAIN, the charity for whom we are doing this crazy event, are the only charitable organisation dedicated solely to supporting men and women who become tetraplegic (severely paralysed) as a result of a sporting accident. Often resulting in a severe loss in mobility and dexterity many accidents occur during active participation in sports such as rugby, diving, horse riding and skiing – most often and very sadly to young, active and dynamic individuals – one minute fit and healthy, the next unable to move and in need of care for the rest of their lives.

We feel, as a team, that our hard work, effort, training, practise and fund-raising are all very worth-while for this charity and we are often humbled by the stories we hear about the people we hope to help by completing this event.

We understand that times are hard for everyone at the moment, but please dig deep and help us hit our target and make the pain we will feel in attempting this challenge all worthwhile! It is your sponsorship that will give us a massive boost and drive us to completing the target we have set ourselves.

Oh, and don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box making every £1 worth £1.28.......better in REGAIN’s pocket than Mr Browns!

Thank you from us all

About the charity

Regain is the only charitable organisation dedicated solely to improving the independence of all British men & women who have become tetraplegic as a result of a sporting or leisure accident. A tetraplegic is unable to walk and has limited reach & dexterity because use of the arms is severely impaired.
