Story
Hello, I'm Jasmine, thank you for looking at this page. Although this page falls under Plymouth Hospitals the funds I raise will go to DCCS (Derriford Children's Cancer Services).
With the chemo treatments I received I discovered two things, one I was destined to lose my hair and two the chemo drugs made me very tired and affected my ability to pick up my feet properly when walking, so I would trip easily.
DCCS came to the rescue on both occasions. They paid for a wheelchair for me, and contributed towards a lovely wig for me to wear so I could feel more like the other girls at school.
But they don't only help in that way. Undergoing treatments can be very upsetting for kids and can get them down. It can also be very hard on our families dealing with the emotions of it all. So DCCS try to organise the odd 'treat' for us to look forward to.
In the summer months they arrange a Watersports Activity & BBQ day at Mountbatten Watersports Centre and in the winter they treat us to go and see the Pantomime in the Theatre Royal.
So you see this charity does some amazing things to try to help people like me feel a little 'normal' again and to have something to look forward to. So please give what you can to them, it will benefit many, many children in the local area and their families.
I also have pages for donations to other charities that are touching my life, so you can pick the one that would mean more to you, or give to all of them!!!
Thank you for coming, reading and GIVING!!!
Jasmine
