Our Story
20th February 2010 at 11am, Paul & I went out to fill our fridge with loads of food in preparation for the coming of our baby. “Baby just wants to stay with mummy”, I secretly said to myself. I was more than a week overdue and was scheduled for induce in a few days. That day I can feel that my newborn was on its way.
20th February 2010 at 11pm, labour pain has been kicking…it was all perfect. I’ve rang the delivery suite in a few hours and then we’re away on the road, Paul was driving sooo carefully. It was hard but exciting…We were in the delivery suite and they’ve had a check on me, everything were fine. After an hour the midwife did a 2nd check on my tummy…There wasn’t any HEARTBEAT.
21st February 2010 at 11mn, I woke up with so many things plumbed into my body. I was in the High Dependency Unit…realizing of what had happened, we’ve lost our baby Jeremie...
There is no word…
A man who losses his wife is called a widow.
A woman who losses her husband is called a widower.
A child who losses its parents is called an orphan.
But there is no name for Parents who lost their child.
…. words cannot explain the feelings of losing a baby
There is no word to describe a parent who loses a child, for there is no word to describe the pain.
One life ended when it should have just been starting. The pain of losing your baby is one that nobody should have to suffer and it is pain that is rarely discussed.
