I'll soon be undertaking the challenge of a 300-mile cycle ride in Northern Israel. The question I've naturally been asked, and indeed I have been asking myself, is why?

Well, there is a very good reason. The purpose of the ride is to raise funds for the Bar Yochai secondary school in Meron. This is a unique project which specialises in helping children with learning disabilities and special needs. The money is to assist the school in expanding its robotic laboratory facilities and upgrade tools and equipment .The robotic lab enables pupils with learning challenges to graduate with real skills for the workplace and the money raised will also allow more pupils to study at this facility. We aim to raise sufficient funds for a complete robotic classroom for the school and we plan to cycle to the school to see how our efforts are supporting this economically deprived area.
