Story

I am taking part in the 3 Peaks challenge on the 9th-10th May. This basically involves climbing 3 mountains in 3 countries in 24 hours...

The aim is to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales respectively – starting on the Saturday at Ben Nevis, followed on the Sunday by Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Snowdon in North Wales.

As I’m sure you’re aware, sleep deprivation, blundering up mountains in the dark, and sporting unflattering hiking gear are not especially high on my list of favourite things, so I’d ask you to please sponsor me generously!

I am taking part in this challenge to raise money for an extremely worthy cause – the Hotcourses Foundation. The Foundation funds education for some of the poorest children in the world; it works in Kenya and Uganda organising child sponsorships for HIV-positive orphans and has also built a school in eastern Kenya.

Our team of 4 walkers and 2 drivers aims to raise £6,500 which will go a long way towards changing the lives of some of these children.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Hotcourses Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now! Thank you.

The Hotcourses Foundation was set up in 2004 to help fund the education of children in the developing world whose access to education was limited or non-existent. Its objective is to make a measurable, tangible difference to the lives of children in some of the poorest parts of the world. Initially it has focused on AIDS-orphans in Kenya and HIV positive young adults in Uganda.
