Hi & thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On Sunday 2 November 2008, I will be joining the 30,000 people attempting to run the ING New York Marathon. The gruelling 26.2 mile course will see me pound the streets of New York's 5 boroughs from the start at Verrazano Bridge to the finish line in Central Park. I've never run a marathon before but the training is going so well I've gone & stupidly set myself a target time of around 4hrs 30mins!

Do you reckon I can do it??

Training update....9/9/08, 18 mile run completed in just over 3hrs. I'm on course!

Injury scare....30/09/08 minor hamstring strain! Have to rest it for at least a week....cycling & swimming it is then.

16/10/08....hamstring feeling ok, finished a 7miler with no ill effects...it's good to be back!

24/10/08.....almost 100% fit, beginning to taper now, which means doing very little & eating lots!

10/11/08.....WE DID IT! Although we didn't quite manage our target time we were still really pleased with 4hrs 43mins 24secs! A huge thanks to everyone for all their support & generous donations, we hope to have raised around £2500 between us which is fantastic!
