We made it to the 'roof of Africa' 5,896 metres (19,340 feet)!!

Thank you all for your sponsorship and words of support / encouragement - it made all the difference particularly during the last 500 metres when the altitude finally got to me, adding to the challenge of a sprained ankle!

2010 will see my next challenge - the highest mountain in Europe Mount Elbrus, Russia 5,642 metres (18,510 feet).   I am inspired by my father who has climbed the majority of the Seven Summits (including Kilimanjaro) whilst living with prostate cancer.  As many of you know it’s a cause I’m passionate about and for that reason I’ve chosen to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Charity. With one man dying every hour it’s equally important to raise awareness as it is money.
