Story

We did it!!!!!!  a massive thank you for all your support.  me, ash and mark completed the half marathon, within a few minutes of each other.  Claire completed 8 miles for the Cooper Parry relay, and Sarah (with injured knee) completed her leg none stop!

As most of you will know, John had been in training to run the full Robin Hood marathon on Sunday 13th September before he found out about his illness.  A few of us at Barclays, who've known and worked with John for a while, decided that we ought to run the marathon for him (or half-marathon with 8 weeks training!), and raise some cash for a charity of Johns choice.

John has chosen to support the Nottingham Universities Hospital Charities, specifying the Oncology Unit for Melanoma Research, as the charity for us to run for.  At Barclays we had already committed to run the Cooper Parry Challenge (which John was taking part in with us, then carrying on to complete the full marathon), so between us we will complete that, but Ash, Mark & Sal will each run the whole 13.1 miles, with Sarah and Claire both completing their legs as part of the Cooper Parry Challenge (roughly 2/3 miles each) -sounds complicated!

We will finish it and in doing so will hopefully raise a great amount of sponsorship for a worthwhile charity, from which John will benefit.  Therefore, please please sponsor us.

We have also registered for matched fundraising with Barclays, which means that they will match £4£ every £1 sponsored, up to £750 raised.  Therefore, our initial target of £750, will equate to £1500!
