I was diagnosed with DCM and heart failure 8 years ago. Initially I was told that I wouldn't be able to exercise or take part in triathlons ever again. Thankfully I proved that Dr wrong! I have did a few triathlons since diagnosis but this is the first 10K I've ever done as I find running is the hardest discipline for me! The final barrier to break through 

I work hard to raise awareness of heart failure because I believe that people can continue to lead a good and positive life despite the symptoms
