SCOOTER BOY
Apologies for the delay in posting this message to all those who supported my adventure but every time I have gone to write it I get tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat....
A very special thank you to everyone who supported my adventure especially everyone involved at Aldershot Town Football Club who provide so much support for the Phyliss Tuckwell Hospice.
What was planned as a weeks scooter ride in the sunshine turned out to be 1600 miles mostly in the pouring rain! But the reception I got at half time at the rec during the game versus Burton Albion will stay with me forever.
Thanks also to the clubs who looked after me so well especially Crawley Town and Tamworth. The total amount raised far exceeded all of our expectations.
THANK YOU
SCOOTER BOY
I embarked on a "Scooter Ride" to all 22 Nationwide Conference Football Grounds starting on Saturday August 21 at Crawley Town when Aldershot Town played there. In total I completed over 1600 miles during the week travelling as far south as Exeter with the furthest northern visit being Carlisle. He arrived back in time for the shots home match versus Burton Albion on Saturday August 28.
I chose to raise funds for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice because it is the official charity of the football club and it is also where my Dad, Ray Jolly, was so well looked after as a Day Care patient during the latter stages of his illness. I wanted to repay the kindness shown to him and my family.
