Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Our modest contribution to the rowing continuum starts early on Friday 6th June 2008, when we leave Wargrave Boating Club for Cricklade with our trusty skiff ‘Heartbeat’ in tow.  Over the next three days, the three men in the boat - David Baker, Gary Foster and Julian Crawley – will attempt to row the 100 miles and 30 locks from Cricklade downstream to Henley, before returning upstream to our base at Wargrave.

So far the training is going well.  We have taken out shares in surgical spirit and our nearest & dearest are getting used to the smell !

We are absolutely thrilled to be doing this to support of the Pelican Cancer Foundation based at Basingstoke in North Hampshire - www.pelicancancer.org

In reaching our destination, we will have two further important objectives – to raise money to help the work of the Foundation, and to use the row to help promote awareness of the work carried out by Pelican.

We would be delighted to have Your support!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Pelican Cancer Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
