We did it! The 10K run took place Bank Holiday Monday around London’s streets and, by joining 13,000 or more runners, Tony and I ran the six and a bit miles and raised more than our target for Leonard Cheshire Disability, a charity that provide accommodation for disabled people.
Lynne Rivers – my brother’s niece – lives in Agate House, a Leonard Cheshire home in Luton. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at 18 and has been a wheelchair user for the last decade.
She cannot move herself while in bed. Her parents and carers now have to now ‘animate’ her through the night to make sure there’s no build up of fluid.
A timely reminder of how lucky we all are. There's still time to make a pledge so, if you can spare just a one pound donation, please, that would be fantastic!
