Story

**  Online donations for tickets has now closed - tickets will be sold on the door, if online donations are made after 18.30 on Friday 26th September 2008 we cannot guarantee that your name will be on the guest list **

The ball committee of Just Desserts invites you to an evening of French-themed fun in the exquisite Corbusian(-ish) magnificence that is Le Grand Hall de la ville de Hammersmith, on Saturday 27th September 2008. The evening has been planned as part of the collective fund raising effort behind Adam Huntington Whiteley and Hugo Llewelyn’s Cross Channel Kayak Paddle in their efforts to raise £75,000 for Leukaemia research at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (more info on that at www.justgiving.com/k4c).

PLEASE NOTE THAT GIVEN DEMAND FOR THE EVENT WE HAVE NOW MOVED THE PARTY TO HAMMERSMITH TOWN HALL FROM FULHAM. THIS IS LOCATED IN KING STREET, HAMMERSMITH, W6 9JU, ABOUT A MILE NORTH OF FULHAM. WE HAVE ATTACHED A STREET MAP BELOW.

Setting out at 5 am in the morning, Hugo and Adam managed to avoid the shipping lanes, and overcome the North Atlantic swell and severe exhaustion, to complete the 25 mile crossing in good conditions on Friday 29th August. Landing at the Cap Gris Nez, west of Calais, in a time of just under seven hours. The party itself will be a considerably more fun way of raising money for the same cause.

The point of Just Desserts is that we start when your main course finishes. Head out to your favourite restaurant for the first part of dinner, and then come on to us at 8.30 for 9.00 o’clock. The evening will kick off with sweet canapés of a deliciously French theme and plenty of champagne to the accompaniment of some fine jazz. We will be holding an auction with a number of fantastic lots (including a F1 Tag Heur watch signed by Lewis Hamilton, a year's supply of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and the chance of a rare Welsh McNab!) after which there will be a DJ, dancing and free-flowing drinks (wine and beer literally free, and flowing) until 2 am.

In keeping with the French theme, the dress code for this evening is Black tie á la mode Tricolore which you can interpret as you see fit...

To secure your entry, simply sponsor £50 and your name will automatically be added to the guest list - please make sure we have a guest name for each £50 sponsored. For example, we have simply no idea who Nick is! If you have generously donated as per the terms of our other justgiving/k4c website, you get on the guest list for nothing!

We are extremely grateful for your support and really look forward to seeing you on the night.

Hugo

** This is a non ticketed event, there will be a guest list on the door so please make sure we have a Guest Name for every £50 donated!!
