Story
On the 28th May 2017 myself (Adam) and my Dad (Michael) will be cycling the coast to coast, from Tynemouth to Whitehaven.........and then back again in 24 hours, to raise as much money as possible for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.
In September 2016 my mother Bernadette passed away after almost 4 years battling bowel cancer. A considerable amount of those 4 years was spent in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead, between the Surgery Centre and St Bede's Hospice.
Throughout this understandably difficult time, the entire hospital staff were incredible, becoming far more than just dedicated staff endlessly caring for Bernadette, they became our friends.
Although previous charity efforts have raised fantastic amounts of money for brilliant causes such as Cancer Research UK, we both felt it was important to recognise and support the often overlooked work carried out by all the staff in this hospital, and give something back where possible.
We would therefore be hugely appreciative of any donations no matter how big or small, to help fund and develop the staff and facilities on these fantastic wards and hospices. This money will go towards supporting future patients to the same amazing levels of care that Bernadette received, and will definitely help turn those pedals that bit quicker.
Thanks so much, Adam and Michael.
