If I'm honest, what I really wanted to enter was the sponsored Pie-eating contest.  The plan was to raise £10 for every pie I ate.  Well, turns out that this was full-up (like I would have been had I got a place).

So now I'm stuck doing a bike ride from my home in sunny London to Paris!  I've never been to France but I've been told that its just like being in a foreign country.  

Thankfully, I have managed to stumble upon a very worthy cause called the Railway Children to cycle for.  Railway Children exists to help vulnerable children in grave circumstances. The objective is to provide relief to children and young people who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress and in particular to those living on the streets.

For these children, the streets are often the only means of support available but also where they suffer abuse and exploitation. 

One of my abiding memories from my time in India is the hardship and struggle that children as young as 3 or 4 go through as part of everyday life.  No home, no help, no money, no food - no hope?  I'm hoping to raise some money towards helping Railway Children change this and give these children a way out.
