We are on call 24/7, 365 days a year to provide mountain search and rescue.

Story

Being the pair that either like getting out of the urban environment, enjoy a challenge, and possibly border upon the reckless or plain stupid, we have decided to attempt the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 3rd July 2010.  We are raising funding for the Mountain Rescue England & Wales.  Whilst we always aim to be prepared and never have to call on their service, we feel more comfort knowing they are there for everybody, and that we can do our bit to ensure these volunteers are on call when needed.  The following link can provide more information on how your donation can be spent: http://www.mountain.rescue.org.uk/funding/where-the-money-goes

We will do the traditional route from the village of Horton in Ribblesdale, and walk the 24.5mile circular taking in Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.  The challenge is to do all this within 12hours, and a traditional clocking station exists in the Pen-y-Ghent cafe at Horton in Ribblesdale to ensure that we succeed within the time, however completing the circuit in our minds is as much as an accomplishment.

Cheers
