Story

O precious tiny sweet little one you will always be to me,

so perfect, pure and innocent just as you were meant to be.

We dreamed of you and of your life and all that it would be,

we waited and longed for you to come and join our family.

We never had the chance to play, to laugh to rock to wiggle,

we long to hold you, touch you now and listen to you giggle.

I will always be your mother, he'll always be your dad,

you will always be our child, the child that we had.

But now you're gone...but yet you're here,

we'll sense you everywhere,

you are our sorrow and our joy, there's love in every tear.

Just know our love goes deep and strong,

we'll forget you never.

The child we had, but never had and yet we'll have forever.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Gemma and I'm lucky enough to work on labour ward at AGH. I have also just qualified as midwife. I have the pleasure of helping care for women and their families during one of the happiest times of their lives. Sometimes though this is sadly not the case, some families experience the tradgey of stillbirth or late miscarraige.

The dedicated staff of labour ward are there for families at this difficult time and try to help women and their families come to terms with their loss while helping build memories of their brief time together. They do an amazing job as it is but there is always more that they can do. To help them in their roles as midwives, health care support workers, doctors, shoulder to cry on and someone who will listen and try to offer as much assistance as they can.

We are lucky enough to be supported by some amazing charities and they help us create memories for these parents but there is always more that we can do!! This is where we need your help!!!

Me, my sisters Lisa and Kelly. Debbie and Caroline, who I have the pleasure of working with, are all taking part in the Major Series 10k obstacle course, "the worlds most friendly obstacle course" (we must be mad). We will crawl through ice, make our way through stinking mud and straw tunnels and all for your entertainment!! Please take the time to sponsor us and the other people taking part with us and help us to make it through the 10k smiling. This is all taking place on 16th March 2014 at Bramham Park, Leeds. Feel free to pop along on the day and witness our muddy smiling faces when we've completed the course. Thank you in advance.
