So please dig deep and donate now.

We are two thirty somethings who work hard and play hard. When we get together the process normally involves glamming up,  cocktails for starters, tasty food and wine, lots of chat and a very giddy head the next day!

We've been doing this for many years and thought we'd give ourselves a booze free challenge one weekend and raise some funds for a very important charity, Chest, Heart & Stroke foundation.

This charity supports people who have suffered close to us, family and friends and am sure each of you will know someone who has been affected by related illnesses at some point.

So.....the glad rags and heels are coming off and we are donning our  overalls to take part in the Ladies Driving Challenge where we will be driving a double decker bus, assisting a fireman with his engine, driving a monster articulated truck, digging massive holes in an excavator and riding a 7 person conference bike.

For those of you chuckling right now, we will upload pictures of evidence following the activity on 13th September!

Every penny counts, so please support the ladies what lunch getting dirty.

Thanks in advance,

Al & Trace

13th September.....

...so we survived. Great day with some fun activities and others that were slightly more frightening. The entertainment started on arrival when we were instructed to wear hideous blue overalls, at which point our dutiful supporters took great pleasure in starting to click the cameras!

As if Trace is not a bad enough name as it is.....Trace was presented with a name badge for Prace!

Our miniature supporters, Jenna and Matthew were overwhelmed and had a bit of fun with the firemans hats and the proud fathers got clicking again.

First port of call was the bus and we accepted the opportunity/risk of having a journey on the bus whilst the other drove....a rather noisy activity with plenty of screaming from the pair of us respectively and think we provided the instructor with huge entertainment......and fear with our constant chat and banter whilst at the wheel....

Then, highly commendable drivers of large vehicles, we are allowed to be set free on the articulated lorries. HUGE and SCARY is most accurate description. Well done to Al who was top scorer driving her Tesco truck.

Now onto a conference bike....what on earth is this contraption. Seven seater bike with one individual having responsibility for stearing. May have helped Trace if she had realised at an earlier stage that all seven people actually had pedals and she didnt have to pedal for seven people and do herself in!!!

Some of our supporters, Shone, Si and Jenna had a go of this, although jenna couldnt quite reach the pedals...so they never got off scot free....and this is probably the one occassion where Ray is glad of the crutches!

Now onto the fire engines, slightly less scary than the artics and quite exciting when the nee nawing started....or as we were corrected, the sirens are started! Mind you, it was reported that Trace looked like she was out for a Sunday drive and would have been no use to anyone in an emergency....so career in fire service out but buses still an option ;-)

Police cars....something not right about a ladies driving challenge and reversing round a circuit at speed in a police car..but we did it and we did it well. Both successful and no cone fatalities.

Now, last but not least....the diggers (technical term!), the one TP has been waiting for to meet the childhood dream of working a digger!!

Loved by Trace and not so much by Al. One of the most difficult challenges but we both did it and TP got top scores for this one!

Top day had by all and Al and "Prace' were given their certificates for successful completion of the Ladies driving Challenge.

Two bottles of well deserved champagne were cracked open to help us celebrate, chill and come back down to earth!

Sponsorships still continue to come into our justgiving site and we have been really touched by the generosity of our family, friends and colleagues who have allowed us to raise around £1200 for Chest, Heart and Stroke foundation.......so well done and thank you all!
