I will be accompanying a group of skiers on Monster Ski 2008 in Colorado at the end of January. They will all be aiming to ski the height of Mount Everest every day for 6 days, and will be raising at least £3,000 each to support the Multiple Sclerosis Trust.

Inspired by them, I've decided to take on my own mini-challenge and so will be attempting to learn to ski while I'm there, with the aim of perhaps joining the group for a proper run or two towards the end of the trip! Quite a daunting prospect having never been near a ski slope before!!

I also want to raise some money for the MS Trust (where I work), a great charity that supports people with multiple sclerosis by providing information, educating health professionals and funding research. A donation of just £10 could provide a personalised pack of information for someone who has recently been diagnosed with MS.

I will be posting some photos of the trip, probably mostly of me buried in snow, on my Facebook page so you can see how I get on! If you would rather sponsor me to build you something out of snow, I'm sure that could be arranged.

UPDATE: Challenge complete! I had 3 days of skiing lessons and can now link parallel turns and ski down green runs without falling over! Quite scary but fun! Monster Ski was a HUGE success with the team skiing over 3.5 million vertical feet in total and raising over £100,000. Still time to sponsor me if you haven't already. Thanks! x
