Story

Hello,

Thanks for getting this far and visiting my JustGiving page.

As some of you may know, this year, to mark my 40th birthday and for various other reasons; I've decided that on 8th October I'm setting off to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Kilimanjaro is the largest free standing Mountain in the world, rising to 5,890 metres. Also it's the largest Mountain which you can walk up. i.e. No technical climbing knowledge required.

It's a five day climb and two day descent and not everyone manages to reach the summit; depending on who you speak to and which route you climb between 65% - 90% of people manage to "summit" on summit night. So, to help me on my way I'd like to ask for your support/encouragement by way of sponsorship to the Marie Curie Nurses.

I'm financing the trip myself so every penny you sponsor will go to the Marie Curie Nurses.

Please give generously as it will help me endure the pain during the 15 hours of summit night where temperatures apparently drop to -30C (+ wind chill factor if it's windy..!!).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks and I look forward to updating you on my success !!

Best Regards

Lawrence
