We offer expert care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In November I am running the New York City Marathon for Marie Curie Cancer Care. They currently provide care to around 29,000 terminally ill patients in their homes and hospices night and day, 365 days a year for nothing. Running the marathon I am hoping to raise a tiny, tiny, tiny percentage to support this amazing charity.

As anyone that has run a marathon (or ran 4/5 hours constant!) will know – the word pain is just an ever so slight understatement! I am certainly not a professional athlete and am definitely getting no record, but I am running to complete in the best time I can. I will be putting all the effort and commitment I can into the training to try to complete the 26.2 (that 1/5 mile will be the worst!) around my workaholic hours (no need for violins!). Training 6/7 days a week, irrespective of the weather. Meaning lots of sweat, blisters, pain, boredom, more sweat, tears, blood, weight loss, loss of social life, even more sweat, tiredness, more pain, more blisters, and eating boring foods!

Just £20 will provide one hour of care and support from a Marie Curie Nurse.

All money donated will go to the charity. Please give as little or as much as you can afford, any donation will be incredibly and gracefully appreciated and will make a difference to the lives of families affected.
