On the 14th August, myself and a team of eight others (hopefully more to be confirmed), consisting of various shapes, sizes and fitness levels will be taking part in the Leeds - Wigan bike ride along the Leeds-Liverpool canal.

The route will start in Leeds on the Saturday morning and hopefully end 83.5 miles later that day in Wigan. This promises to be quite a challenge as most of those taking part haven't been on a bike in years, if indeed they own one yet and training to say the least, has been 'light'.  Add to that the co-ordination required to negoitate small towpaths, anglers, dogs and no doubt inclement weather, if someone doesn't fall in the canal it'll be a miracle! (although rest assured, if they do, there will be pictures!).

It is all for a good cause, Changing Faces is a UK charity that supports and represents people who have disfigurements of the face or body from any cause and you may have recently seen a TV & Poster campaign featuring four children the charity have been involved with, one of whom (Lauren) we know well.

It really would make a huge difference if you could spare any money and National Grid have kindly agreed to match contributions up to a total of £400 so if we can hit a combined total of £800 would be amazing.
