Story
After starting off on August 21st at 3.30pm and finishing at 4.30pm on August 31st, 2010, I had cycled the length of England and Scotland on the long journey from Land's End to John O’Groats in aid of the Grown Up Congenital Hearts (GUCH) Patients Association This is a charitable organisation that provides money to hospitals for research grants as well as providing direct support and information for individuals with congenital heart conditions and their families.
On the 3rd February 2010, son of Rob and Carey, brother to Luke and Olivia and close friend of mine and many others, Euan Lankester sadly lost his life at the age of 20 to a very complex Congenital Heart Defect. In nearly 1 in every 100 live births there is a heart disorder, and Euan was blighted by these defects since birth, unfortunately being more complex than most. He has been, and continues to be, hugely missed by all who knew him. Since Euan’s passing it was decided, as a mark of respect, that the cycle ride would be done in his name and to help raise money for the G.U.C.H. Patients Association.
