Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I am trekking the Peruvian Andes along the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu in September 2008 in memory of my wife Jane and in aid of Breast Cancer Care. Jane died from this terrible disease in March 2005 leaving our three daughters and myself and I am committed to help other sufferers and their families through this marvellous charity. My mother, Helen, has also been recently diagnosed with the disease - but fortunately, after surgery, her prognosis is now promising. Statistics show that 1 in 9 women in the UK will suffer from breast cancer during their lives, but with the work of charities like this, survival rates are thankfully on the increase.
The trek itself is over 8 days with 6 to 8 hours a day of arduous walking at altitudes reaching 4,500 meters. I am already in training, but my training partner Oscar (left) will unfortunately not be able to join me!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Breast Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now and support this fabulous cause!
Many thanks for your support.
