Fundraising for St Giles Hospice
Story
STOP THE PRESS!!! We did it!!!! We finished our circuit of the course at just before midnight last night! Thanks a million to everyone who sponsored us. We raised a grand total of £175 which is truly fantastic! Thanks also to Sarah and everyone on the Hospice team. They did a fabulous job of organising the whole event. Things ran without any hiccups that I could see and a bacon bap has NEVER tasted so good . 'Til next year...
Yay! It's that time of year again!
On the night of the midsummer solstice Lichfield city centre is invaded by winged beauties of all ages, shapes and sizes; all with one common goal - to raise as much money as possible for St Giles Hospice (oh and to get dressed up and have a laugh too ).
This year I will be walking with some of my fellow belly dancers (and maybe my Mini-Me will help us on our way too).
When my darling dad finally lost his 4.5 year battle with lung cancer, it was the fantastic staff at St Giles that made his passing so much more bearable. Their incredible 'At Home' team enabled him to be in his own bedroom, in his own bed, surrounded by his loved ones when he finally died. If it is possible to have such a thing, his death was a good one, thanks to these amazing people.
I want to do my bit to say thank you for all they did for dad and for us as a family. The money I raise will help to give other families the same love and support that we received through this terrible time.
Please, please, please give as much as you can. I know only too well that times are tough at the moment but people are still getting cancer and they still need the care that St Giles can give. Even a small amount is fabulous. Every penny makes a difference.
