Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I shall be horse riding with Wild Frontiers Adventure Travel Ltd and Richard Dunwoody (Antarctic Explorer and charity fund raiser ) from Kygyzstan, through Tajikistan, the Wakhan Corridor in Afghanistan, and the Irshad Pass into Pakistan (if we can get the border pass) if not; then back through to Dushanbe in Takjikistan.
It is such an exciting and hopefully not too dangerous itinerary through the Tien Shan Mountains, the Pamirs, the Wakhan Corridor and through to Pakistan that I hope it captures your imagination (you can look up the terrain on Google Earth) and will inspire you to donate to Riding for the Disabled or the Conquest Centre for Disabled Riders Ltd and the great work that they do to help make people mobile once a week on horseback.
My Mother and I used to take my pony Budge every Thursday in the 1960's and it helped a lot of disabled people have lots of laughs and excitement and exhilaration riding through woods, and streams and countryside where no wheel chair would ever make it. Everyone loved being involved - including the horses and ponies.
The Conquest Centre for Disabled Riders Ltd. Reg charity number 1103883 is in Norton Fitzwarren, near Taunton, Somerset. If you are local to that area and would like to make a direct contribution to them rather than nationally to RDA; please call them on: 01823 433614 or email: info@conquestcentre.org.uk
Any sized donation you would like to make would be most welcome and much appreciated.
Dunster Properties Ltd. at Halswell.co.uk will be hosting a dinner, slide show and talk when we return.. More news on that later.. and the full itinerary of the trip which will take about 28 days in all.
Many thanks, Lisette
