Story
On the 14th July, I will be taking part in the Ironman UK event, comprising of a 3.8km swim, a 180km bike and a 42km run. This will be a huge challenge both physically and mentally, but is something that I am determined to achieve. Throughout both my training and the Ironman itself, I will be thinking of my close friend, Anna, who is currently experiencing challenges of her own.
In November, Anna suffered a serious traumatic brain injury. After spending a significant period of time in intensive care, Anna has been undergoing an intense rehabilitation programme in Nottingham and is continuing to make incredible progress physically - an inspiration to us all.
With Anna in mind, I am striving to raise money for an amazing charity, known as Headway. Headway works with those who have experienced a brain injury, supporting them to recover their independence and confidence, both in themselves and in the community. The charity also provides information and support to relatives and carers that will assist them to cope with the changes that a brain injury can bring to families and relationships.
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page, any donations towards this incredible charity would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you xx
