Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Voluntary Service Overseas gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

For those of you that visit this page and like me, the marathon is not only a good chance to raise money for a deserving charity but it will also mean a significant change in my lifestyle, as a result I'll end up fitter, healthier and happier.

For those of you that don't like me very much, I'm gonna be in a WORLD OF PAIN, and if that isn't worth a few bob I don't know what is!!!

Any amount is more than welcome,

Thanks very much.

Update: 13Jan09 - Have recently completed a 12 miler. To date I've run 180 miles. Next long run will be 14 miles!!

Update: 27Jan09 - 14 miler went well, next stop 15 miles on sunday.

Update: 16Feb09 - 15 miler and 17 miler completed since last update. Next stop 19 miles following the High Peak Trail!!

Update: 13Mar09 - 19 Miler went very well, running with other people is much better than running on your own. Next stop 21 Miles!! Getting there.

Update: 26Mar09 - 21 Miler did not go well, poor preparation and poor execution. Still I finished it (just) a bit of knock, but completed a comfortable 14 miler the nxt weekend. Next long run will be 23 miles. Fingers crossed.

Update:16Apr09: 23.64 miles completed in about as much pain as I can take. Too hot, too hilly, too dehydrated. Tapering down can't come quickly enough. A sub 4 hr marathon is looking further away than I originally thought, respect the 26.2!! Oh, bought a new pair of shoes now, I was starting to feel the road after 507 miles in the old ones, new ones feel like I'm running on air. Next stop. London.

Update:24Apr09: A big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me it's really very much appreciated. A special thank you to Claire Sparks who left the office at 13:50 today with my sponsor form and came back at 14:00 with 15 quid in cash and 70 more in pledges, pro-rata thats £420 per hour!! Talent. Rest assured, I shall give it my all.
