We are driving research into bone health to create a future without osteoporosis

Story

 Dear Supporters,

After seven months of training (and with a few tears, tantrums and a spate of injuries along the way) we took our place on the starting line at Greenwich yesterday in the baking sunshine - we ditched the skeleton jumpsuits because of the temperatures! Urged on by the fantastic crowds, we made our way around the famous course in our skeleton T shirts and are both now in possession of a weighty gold medal.

We had a fantastic time and a truly memorable day.  We have also raised lots of money for the National Osteoporosis Society and wanted to thank all of you for your generosity - and encouraging words.  An extra big thank you to everyone who came out to cheer us on our way and to celebrate with us at the end!  We are still celebrating and are happy to have drinks bought for us at any time - no more no-drinking marathon bores!

For those of you have not yet sponsored us but would like to, it is not too late!  We would love to reach £4,000 after all the pain and blisters!!!

Donating through this site is totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us as the National Osteoporosis Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. However, if you would prefer to donate in person, that is fine too.

Many, many thanks again.

Lucy and Katy

About the N.O.S.

The N.O.S. is the only U.K. charity dedicated to fighting the fragile bone disease, osteoporosis; an excruciatingly painful and debilitating disease which, although little talked about, affects one in two women and one in five men.

Running and other weight-bearing exercise can help prevent the disease and exercise is key to coping with the symptoms - for this reason, we think the London Marathon is a great way to raise money to support the work of the N.O.S. and also to raise awareness of the disease.
