Story
On 18th April I ran in the inaugural Brighton Marathon.
I completed the course in just under 5 hours and am very pleased that I didn't stop or walk once.
The support from friends and family as well as complete strangers was amazing, thanks everyone, I hope to be supporting others next year.
Thanks so much to you all for your very generous sponsorship to date, fingers crossed I can reach my target.

On 18th April I will be running in the first Brighton Marathon.
A number of you think I am completely mad to be doing this and I am starting to agree!
When I signed up for this marathon last year I thought April would never come, well no surprise it has. Last weekend I completed my longest training run of 20 miles and had planned a lovely 10 mile run along the Dorset coast for Good Friday. Friday's run turned out to be the wettest run I have done, with the rain coming down so hard it actually hurt. With less than 2 weeks to go, I need to keep icing my legs, rolling the golf ball on my bad foot and complete a few small runs.
A number of you have asked me which charity I am running for and how they can sponsor me so I have set up this page so that my efforts can raise some money for The Stroke Association. The support you offer me by donating to this great Charity will give me that extra push in the last 8 miles when the pain will be taking hold and challenging my everystep. Supporting this charity with their research into Strokes, will help families like my own and others close to me, whose loved ones lives have been affected by a Stroke.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks for all your support over the last few weeks and months, fingers crossed for the 18th. Love Lucy
