Story

Following on from our success last year in the three peaks challenge, on the 31st July 2008, 29 of us from Macdonald & Company will embark on the famous Ten Tors Challenge! This will be the a stand alone challenge undertaken by Macdonald & Company to raise money for the Elifar Foundation - our chosen company charity. The Elifar Foundation is a charity run almost entirely by volunteers. It aims to help improve the care, facilities and equipment available mainly to profoundly disabled children and young adults, whether living at home or in residential care. We support Elifar because it is so small every penny we raise makes a real difference.

The challenge will involve a 55 mile walk acrossDartmoorNational Park(one of the country's most rugged areas), from tor to tor, including an overnight camp on the moor. This is an outstanding opportunity for a number of Macdonald & Company staff to undertake what is regarded as one of the most arduous long distance challenges in the country. The team includes:

Aadil Cockar, Alex Large, Andrew Tew, Charlotte Murdoch, Christine Scott, Claudio Rojas, Dominic Mabbs, Ian Muff, James Sheppard, James Stephenson, Jamie Allaway, Jamie Williams, Keeley Atkinson, Kerry Rowlands, Michelle Squire, Nicole Gozna, Nina Cowell, Oliver Argles, Peter Moore, Rhona Macleod, Simon Revere, Tom Elam, Tom Greenwood, Tom Primrose, Tamara Lecky-Thompson, Katy Maclean, Adam Harrington, Joe Woodward, Alistair Carter, Charlie Holroyde.

Our Managing Director Peter Moore  has carefully selected a dream team of elderly athletes! This team will set off before the main group. For each team that catches the dream team more money will be donated!  Dream Team members: Duncan Morgan, Andrew Cunliffe, Simon Duncan, Simon Murphy.

Please give generously to help encourage and motivate these willing volunteers to complete the challenge successfully!

Please dig deep and sponsor us online.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Elifar Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are ataxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
