Story

My son, Trooper James Munday, died aged 21 during a routine patrol in Afghanistan on October 15 2008.

He loved outdoor life and was more at home on the mountains than anywhere else. He always spoke of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, but tragically, he never had the chance to fulfill his dream.

Now, my friend Norrie and I are preparing to climb to the summit of the mountain, hoping to arrive on September 25 - James's Birthday. We are taking on this challenge in James's memory, and reaching the top is probably going to be one of the most emotional moments of my life.

But the climb isn't just about James. We also want to raise as much money for The Household Cavalry and Troop Aid, so our brave soldiers get the best, which is exactly what they deserve.

Please take a moment to donate whatever you can - and look out for our story when we complete the challenge in September.

Best,

Rob Munday
