Supporting Ashford Neonatal Intensive and Special Care Baby Unit
Dear Sponsor
I'm seeking your help to raise sponsorship to support the Neonatal & Special Care Baby Unit in Ashford, Kent where premature and sick babies require expert care by professional teams and facilities. i'm not a regular fund raiser but I firmly believe in this cause. My friends' child was born at 26 weeks weighing 820g. Because of these dedicated and talented people she is now a healthy 7 month old baby. 15 years ago her chance of survival would have been poor. Nowadays more premature babies are given a fighting chance to live normal lives. Support for this unit, and others, benefits the babies, the parents and the staff.
To gain your support, I am joining a group of hardy folks taking part in an 'Apprentice style' challenge where we will attempt to survive a day of training with the Argyll and Sutherland Army regiment. As you can see from the picture, the closest i've been to the army is the Web!! Worryingly, the schedule of activities is confidential until the day but i've seen the assault course and terrain at the barracks and am not confident of my success .
I hope that by volunteering for extreme activity and inevitable humiliation I may gain your support for this very worthy cause. The money raised will not be sunk into administration, the people who need it will get it and put it to good use to help sick babies pull through and lead normal lives
Thanks,
Nindi.
