We offer expert care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness

Story

On the 1st November 2009, I will be running the New York marathon to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. I am looking to raise at least £4000 and hope that you will be willing to sponsor me to help me reach this target.

Why am I running?

In late 2006 my mum, Jan White, was diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer. The cancer had spread to her bones and she quickly became unable to manage the pain herself. Marie Curie Cancer Care was able to offer her a place at a hospice close to her home in Bradford

Here, she received the tailored, dedicated and expert 24 hour care she needed. She was able to stay here with as much dignity and independence as her cancer would allow for over 5 months until her death at the age of 53 in August 2007.

The hospices and at-home care that Marie Curie Cancer Care provide let people with terminal cancer choose where they spend their final moments. Marie Curie Cancer Care support the families of patients throughout and after.

Marie Curie Cancer Care provide all their services at no cost to the patient. Amazing services like this need amazing levels of fundraising.

This is why I’m running in New York and why I need your support.

In Memory of my mum, Jan White

In Support of Marie Curie Cancer Care and all they do

In Recognition of the work all Marie Curie nurses do on a daily basis.

Thankyou for your time

A big thanks to WRG Creative Communication for all their support
