Viva and I are heading to the Arctic circle this November where we will be swimming in the ocean at sub zero temperatures. We will already be a little out of our comfort zone and to add to the challenge we will be doing this while observing Orca whales feeding in pods. We will not be in a cage or have any protection other than a steely gaze and are likely to come within nine feet of these extremely large and toothy creatures. 

A few friends have mentioned that in dry suits the two of us will look suspiciously like seals - a staple of this overgrown dolphin who is also known as 'Killer Whale or 'Sea Wolf!' We have therefore decided that as this may potentially be the last 'holiday' either of us take that we should raise some money for charity before we go as some form of insurance to book us a couple of places in heaven if required.

We are funding the trip ourselves so all donations go directly to the Oundle Mencap holiday which is something I have been involved in for the past 15 years and is an extremely worthwhile cause. I am sure I have already bored many of you with tales from my time helping with these delightful and sometimes challenging children but if anyone wants to know more then please let me know!
