Kettle Club
Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
Hi All, Yes our sanity has gone! 5 members of the Kettle Club will be riding the length of the and yes you’ve guessed it, on their trusty 35 year old Suzuki GT750 two stroke motorbikes. The event will take 4 days and will be done without the aide of a back up vechicle. We set off on the 24th June 2010 returning 27th June (With luck). The time includes riding down to the starting point from the S.E. of England and also the return journey. Total distance covered will be around 2000 miles. I do believe the whole of the breakdown services will be on full alert over this time! Joking aside, this ride is being done for a club member who would like to be with us on this mammoth undertaking, and actually sowed the seed of the idea for this journey. Alas he like many other people we know of, be it club members, family, friends or colleagues at work has been diagnosed with cancer and due to treatment he is having will be unable to join in on what he started. So 5 of us will carry on for him with this epic journey. To do this monumental distance on old bikes with knackered old riders alone would be an achievement, but we will be doing this also for the Cancer Research UK charity as so many of us are touched by cancer in one way or another.
