We safe and decent homes for families to build new lives, hopes and opportunities

Story

Please sponsor me for the Engadin cross-country ski marathon to raise money for the charity, Habitat for Humanity.

12,000 competitors take part in the marathon every year to ski the gruelling (for me at least) 26 mile course across the frozen lakes fringing St Moritz in the Swiss Alps and along the Engadine Valley.  I'm praying that the wind will be behind us!

All the money that you give will be used for a Habitat for Humanity project with South African charity 'Thandanani Children's Foundation', building homes for vulnerable young children struggling to fend for themselves because their parents have died of AIDS.  A group of volunteers from Freshfields will travel to South Africa in September to help with the building work and the money I am seeking to raise will be used to buy the building materials and cover the costs of the project.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Habitat for Humanity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

About the charity

We believe decent homes are the heartbeat of strong communities and so we also fight for land rights for women, upgrade urban slums and informal settlements, improve access to water and sanitation, and help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.
