Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page & hopefully sponsoring me….

When I first mentioned that I wanted to run the marathon, people generally reacted in the same way as I did when Spurs fans said that they could win the league - pure disbelief and uncontrollable laughter.  However, despite their proven track record of Premiership titles, I think my goal is a lot more realistic.  The London Marathon is something I’ve always wanted to do but have usually just watched every year from the comfort of the sofa.  For those of you who have known me since my school/uni days, running 26 meters would have been an achievement, let alone 26 miles.  But as you can all see from my picture on the left, I’ve changed quite a bit since then.  As part of my training, I’ll also be going alcohol free for the 4 months leading up to the event as I’ve been told that unfortunately lager isn’t the ideal training partner.  This alone worries me more than the actual marathon.

I have chosen to run in aid of WellChild, an amazing charity which has been instrumental in saving the lives of thousands of sick children whilst providing the support their families so desperately need.  You can read more about the work WellChild performs on their website; www.wellchild.org.uk.

I am aiming to raise over £1,500 and would appreciate any donation you could make (not 1p Ian).  Thank you in advance for your donation which will hopefully help me achieve this.

Thanks again for your support,

Mark
