Story

On August 2nd 2009 Cheltenham Town Manager Martin Allen completed a 72 mile bike ride from his home in Maidenhead to The Abbey Business Stadium.

Martin was joined by Associate Director Simon Masding, 6 dedicated supporters and Mike Pinks of Cheltenham Cycles, who kindly provided the bike Martin rode!

The event was organised to help raise some much needed cash for Cheltenham Town FC and provide Martin with a helping hand in preparing his Robins team for the 2009/10 season.

Martin Allen commented: "I didn't know what kind of response to expect but it has been fantastic. Everyone has given great encouragement and now it's time for all those who said 'great idea' to put their hands in their pockets and cough up because I'm not doing this for fun!

"I want to raise some big money for the club. After all, this is a great community to be part of. It's great that Simon is cycling too - nice lad and I'll give him a push if he starts to tire. We will all need lots of support so we'll make sure we give you lots of updates of our plans over the next eight weeks"
