I would just like to say a big thank you for the support you gave me on my recent trip to
. I hope to be able to thank you all personally at some point when work allows!
The trip itself was very hard work, most days we were cycling in 100 deg temperatures for about 5-6 hours covering a distance of between 40 to 70 miles. That said the country was beautiful, the people friendly and the team I rode with fantastic. is a fascinating place, the people, the politics, the food and the scenery go to make it one of the best things I have ever done.
Overall I have raised with your help around £5000, this will go towards helping Momentum run programs such as the one Optos was involved in with Craig.
Maybe next time some of you may want to join me!
The reason that I am keen to help this particular charity is that one of the production team came to us through Momentum, Craig is a great guy who has added a lot of value to the team, he has a great sense of humour and is always willing to help. Craig suffered a brain virus about five years ago, this left him with memory and dexterity issues meaning that he could no longer continue to be a Mechanical engineer.With the help of Momentum and the guys in the production team Craig now works for Optos, building and testing scan blocks, shortly he will move on to laser modules. The place would not be the same without him.
