We want all young people to have the chance to play, learn and develop through cricket.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Those of you who know Maurice will know a large proportion of his life is spent on or around a cricket field. Watching, training, playing. Maurice never seems to walk anywhere - he bowls everywhere. It's had an incredible impact on his life, as have the players and coaches who he meets and give him plenty of time and encouragement.

One thing he's become aware of recently is not everyone has the chance to enjoy the game as much as he does - partly due to the British weather, but largely due to lack of funding, support and opportunities, three things that Chance to Shine are working across the UK to change. Their hard work helps take the game to schools, clubs and people who otherwise wouldn't get the chance and 'spread the power of cricket'.

So that's where this challenge began. The current world record for a bowling run up stands at 2.916 kilometres, and on the 1st June (weather permitting) Maurice is hoping to take that over the 3km mark as part of an U11 league game for Adel CC. In doing so he hopes to raise a bit of money for Chance to Shine and give back a little to the game he's taken so much enjoyment from.

Many thanks for all your donations - fingers crossed for some sunshine on the day.
