UPDATE - I AM NOW ALSO RUNNING THE 2011 LONDON MARATHON FOR WHIZZ-KIDZ SO I'VE INCREASED MY FUNDRAISING TARGET TO COVER BOTH RACES!!  Please give generously to support this brilliant cause.

I am running the London Marathon on 17 April 2011 on behalf of Whizz-Kidz, a fantastic charity that provides customised mobility equipment for disabled children.  This equipment really can transform children's lives, allowing them to develop life skills and, most importantly, have fun!  At the moment 70,000 children don't have a wheelchair suitable for their needs.  Whizz-Kidz is working to change that. 

Please help me to raise a minimum of £475 to support this great cause.  Here are some examples of what this money could go towards:
£1,500 could pay for three sessions of wheelchair skills training for ten children.
£2,800 would provide a child with a lightweight manual wheelchair, not available on the NHS.
£3,500 could pay for a customised lightweight sports wheelchair so that they can join in with a sport of their choice.

As you can see from my results on the left of this page I have done a few races this year and my times are improving!  The knowledge that I will be raising money for a great cause will be hugely motivating as I step up my training over the next few months, particularly when I am getting up early on Saturday mornings to do my long runs in the freezing cold.  So please give what you can, and help to make a difference to a child's life.
