Story
In April 2015, Mary, Michelle and Mark will be running the London Marathon in order to raise funds for the charity children with cancer uk. It is the leading national charity dedicated to the fight against all childhood cancers.
They rely entirely on voluntary donations and, with your support, they can help children today and in the future and save every young life that might otherwise be lost forever.
On top of this Mark is also attempting two military themed events as part of his ongoing mid-life crisis:
Paras 10 - The Parachute Regiment challenge is the 10 Mile 'P' Company Cross Country Route, carrying a bergen (rucksack) weighing 35lb (excluding food water) and wearing long trousers with ‘military style’ boots. As a guide the Paratroopers P Company Selection cut off time is 1 hr 50 minutes and this is the time Mark is aiming to beat.
The Fan Dance - A gruelling 24km race over two sides of Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. This infamous route has long been a part of SAS (Special Air Service) and SBS (Special Boat Service) Selection and is considered the yardstick of a candidate's potential to perform well on Test Week and ultimately pass the Special Forces Selection programme. This will also require Mark to carry a 35lb bergen and wear military style boots.
We are working tirelessly and training hard and we hope you will be able to dig deep and support us in raising funds for children with cancer uk.
Thank you, Mary, Michelle and Mark
