We breed and train guide dogs to give blind people freedom and mobility
Story
UPDATE: I had a great Skydive on the 28th of June. After leaving the aeroplane at over 13000ft we did a forward summersalt before opening the drogue chute to freefall down to 6500ft. The rest of the descent was exhilarating as the instructor steered us around the area to land ever so gently on the airfield.
Very many thanks to all the sponsors. Any further donations are welcome on my new sponsor page for the Great North half-marathon. (http://www.justgiving.com/mikescholesgnrun)
After losing 90% of my sight in November 2007, I felt raising money for guide dogs would be a worthwhile cause. Being adventurous, a skydive will be a good challenge for me and, I hope, an inspiration for others.
The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
