MrDTs WALK IT London 2018 fundraising page

WALK IT London · 9 June 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most of you will know me as DT, the one who always moans on AFTV, what you may not know is that I have been fighting Crohn’s diseases for over 14 years, after having surgery in 2004, I was able to control my Crohn’s for a number of years through medications and healthy eating. In 2014 my flare ups became more aggressive and over the years I was spending a lot of time in and out of hospital.
Recently I tried to combat the illness with biological therapy but with no luck, it was then decided that due to the severity of my Crohn’s, I had to have surgery again. On Saturday April 14th 2018 I underwent bowel surgery to remove five strictures that we’re blocking my bowels, during surgery it was evident that these strictures had now formed as one large mass and the surgeons had to remove the whole section (over 30cm) immediately.
Some 4 week on and I am already feeling better, stronger and optimistic about the future, I am doing this walk to raise money for a charity very close to me, I hope to see some of you in London, even if you’re there just for support, thanks for reading my story.
