YES, thats right I am running the London Marathon 2010, I can't actually believe I am doing this. Running the Marathon will complete a life long wish for me. I probably should have done it when I was 18 and could run a marathon before breakfast.
Instead I am attempting this at aged 32, slightly over weight and not having run for years. I have been training since I got the place to run in the 2010 Marathon and confident I am not only going to finish but also get a great time. I am literally doing it for the Kids! as Relateen is a local charity that concentrates on helping children aged 10 - 18. There is more information below on Relateen and Relate and the work they are doing in West Surrey.
SO PLEASE HELP ME, HELP THEM and raise over a £1000 for Relateen in my 2010 London Marathon. I am really proud that I have got this far, and now hope I can be proud of my friends and family when it comes to raising some money for a really worthwhile cause.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
I am running for Realteen West Surrey, so many people run for so many good causes, but I thought it would be nice to run for something local, and a cause where they totally rely on dontations and fundraising.
Relate’s role is to help people build better couple relationships. They do this through couple counselling and in West Surrey they undertake over 7000 hours of counselling a year, which are provided by 40 trained counsellors at 10 locations throughout West Surrey.
They also provide a free-of-charge counselling service for young people aged 10 -18 who have been affected by the breakdown of their parents’ relationship. This service was established over 5 years ago and is called Relateen. Their main source of funding for Relateen is from London Marathon sponsorship obtained by runners like my good self.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Dominic
