If I was feeling more eloquent, I could have said because I wanted a challenge and to get fitter... I've never run this far ever, in my entire life! Not even after a football or rugby ball!

When I started training, I could manage about 2KM before collapsing in an exhausted pile but now I reckon I can make the course without dying, I've lost a stone and hopefully you'll chuck some money to a good cause! Everyone wins. Unless you like rugby union, then you always lose!
