So, our son Louis passed away at only 2yrs old. He died of a mitochondrial disease which is a energy deficiency dissorder where his body could not process food into energy to do simple functions such as talk or swallow. He was a normal little boy with the best smile and mischievous laugh but had no idea of what was ahead. He was 18 months old when he first showed signs that something was wrong but in 6 months his regression was so fast it surprised us all. He could crawl, talk, walk with his stroller when this horrible condition took it all away from him. To be told your son has a terminal condition with no treatment or cure I wouldnt wish that feeling upon anyone. When my local crossfit box "reebok crossfit connect" asked if we would like to do a memorial workout we thought what an awesome idea:) This is our chance to do something in his memory for a charity that has helped us in only a short time so we want to thank them by raising a small tocken of money to help another child in their time of need.
So the workout is going to be gassy to simulate his condition
Feel free to give it a go then make a donation
2 rounds for time as fast a possible
21 burpees. 500mtr sprint (His D.O.B). 15 pull ups
1 minute rest (silence for any loved one)
2 rounds for time 30 sec rest between rounds
17 wall balls. 7 sit ups to stand up. 17 press ups (weight vest optional).
These are the reps for the date he passed, both are 2 rounds as he was 2 years old
He may of only been 2 but Hannah and I was so so proud of Louis and he lived up to the meaning of his name "warrior" he fought so hard to the end and probably would of kept going but we had to end his pain as his vital organs were shutting down. It was amazing how much a child can impact your life in such a short time. We love you Louis, rest in peace.
