Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
As some of you may know my daughter Darcey fell ill in April of this year with a severe blood infection when she was just 15 months old. She was eventually transferred to Ward 10 at St James's in Leeds and thankfully the brilliant people there got her back on her feet in no time. Whilst we were in Jimmy's we saw the brilliant work of the doctors, nurses and staff on Ward 10 first hand and the work they do with children suffering from cancer, leukaemia and severe blood disorders. Supporting them in this work is a charity that may not be as well known as others but nevertheless does amazing work each year with their fundraising efforts and work on the ward generally: http://candlelighters.org.uk/.
Whilst Darcey is now almost back to full health we realise that a lot of children and parents are not so lucky and we would like to do our small bit to help Candlelighters in the brilliant work they do supporting the staff and patients on Ward 10. That's why I and a few friends have agreed to enter this years Great North Run - twice as far as I've ever run before!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Candlelighters Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So if you can spare even a couple of quid for this good cause it would greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Naithan
